Shipping and Returns
What information do you need from me, to ship my artwork?
Courier companies necessitate a physical delivery address, excluding post office boxes due to the requirement for a signature upon delivery.
Additionally, a contact telephone number and email address are essential, enabling the courier company to communicate delivery information effectively.
How will my painting be packaged?
Paintings with sides under 48" will be carefully wrapped in bubble wrap and placed in a sturdy commercial cardboard box.
For paintings with at least one side measuring 48" or more, they are typically taken off their stretcher bars and rolled in a tube. Upon receipt, you'll be responsible for re-stretching the canvas.
If you've purchased a painting needing stretching and prefer it shipped directly to a framer, contact us at art@karencouillard.com for arrangements.
Please Note: Opting for a large painting shipped already on stretcher bars will require a wood crate, leading to a significant increase in shipping costs.
How long will it take for my painting to be delivered?
Within 5 working days of payment, your painting will be carefully packaged. Once handed over to the courier company, the delivery time varies based on the destination.
Our shipping costs reflect the most economical courier option, typically ground transportation.
If you desire a faster shipping method and are willing to cover the additional costs, kindly reach out to us at art@karencouillard.com to make the necessary arrangements.
What is your return policy?
Changed your mind? No worries! Paintings can be exchanged for a credit on karencouillard.com covering the full amount (excluding shipping costs), provided the following conditions are met:
- Notify us in writing within seven (7) days of receiving the artwork that you'd like to return it.
- Pack and ship the artwork back to us via a recognized courier within fourteen (14) days at your own expense.
- Ensure the artwork is returned in its original packaging and the same condition as when it was shipped.
Take care during both unpacking and repacking.
How much is shipping, and who pays for it?
As part of our current promotion, shipping costs are covered and included in the "shipping" section of your order form, reflecting in your final bill.
Enjoy FREE SHIPPING to Canada and the US during this limited-time offer.
For international shipments, a shipping fee applies, calculated based on the most economical option.
If you prefer expedited shipping and are willing to cover the extra costs, feel free to contact us at art@karencouillard.com.
How will I know when to expect my artwork?
Once shipping arrangements are made with the courier, you'll receive email notifications detailing your package's travel status.
We inform you promptly upon delivery to the courier, sharing the tracking number and confirming the initiation of the process. As a signature is necessary upon receipt, ensure someone is available for delivery.
If this isn't feasible, please contact the courier to explore alternative arrangements, such as self-pickup or rescheduling for another day.
Shipping not available for selected address - what should I do?
For international buyers outside of Canada and the USA interested in purchasing one of my originals, kindly reach out to me directly at art@karencouillad.com
I'll personally generate your invoice and coordinate direct shipping to your location.

Commission pieces
How do I initiate a request for a commissioned artwork?
Before proceeding, kindly confirm my current commission availability. Due to a high volume of requests, there might be limitations on new commissions.
For the latest status, please contact me at art@karencouillard.com.
What is the creative process for painting a commissioned piece?
If the requested size is not in stock, I will place a custom order, which takes up to 2 weeks for the stretching process. Once the canvases arrive, I commence painting!
As I approach the final stages, I'll share progress photos with you. Your feedback, such as preferences for more or less of certain elements, is welcomed. If adjustments are needed, I'll make them and share updated photos. Once you're satisfied, you can settle the remaining balance on your invoice.
After that, we carefully pack and ship the painting to you!
How long does a commissioned painting take to complete?
The completion timeframe for commissioned pieces varies based on my schedule, the size of the artwork, and the number of iterations needed.
While it's assessed on a case-by-case basis, you can generally anticipate a completion window ranging from 2 to 6 weeks.
What if I don’t like the final product?
Despite my diligent efforts to align with clients' visions, art being subjective, commissioned pieces may not always perfectly match the collector's vision.
In such cases, 25% of the total invoice (50% of the initial deposit) can be applied toward the purchase of any other painting available on KarenCouillard.com.
